CHESS CLUB - 5-7pm in the RSC (2nd floor) every Monday and Wednesday evening. Players of all skill levels are welcome to participate in this FREE activity. Sessions will be conducted by a US Chess Master.


AARP DRIVER SAFETY CLASSES -  Tues., October 19 and Thurs., October 21, 1-5pm. Both days required. Insurance rate reduction of 5% (or more) for qualified drivers (no current points or violations), 55 years and older who submit AARP Course certificate. New York and Florida registered drivers, please check with your insurer before enrolling in our Pennsylvania course. These states have some unique requirements. Feel free to bring water, juice, etc. Location: POA Conference Room. To register: Send check made to AARP dated the First Date of the course you plan to attend to: Reuel Kaighn, 145 the Hideout, Lake Ariel, Pa 18436. AARP Members $12pp, Non Members $14pp. Include AARP Member Number on Check. Full disclosure clause: AARP now offers a four (4) hour, one day course for those who have earlier completed an eight (8) hour course. I think the material requires full time to do it justice. WOMEN GOLFERS - The HWGA is looking to expand. If you enjoy playing golf, and would like to do so on a regular basis, consider joining. In the past, there has been a handi-cap restriction. This year, membership is open to all golfers. For information call Susan 647-9553.


GOLF SCHOLARSHIP RAFFLE - committee members are selling blocks of chance for $10 each. The grand prize will be the weekly golf pass (2011) from the POA. There will also be six $50 prizes.


WOODWORKERS BALL -Thurs.,  Sept. 16, at the Lodge, 6-11pm. All woodworkers and mates welcome. $35pp. Sign up sheet at Woodworkers Building or call Al Auricchio at 698-8013. Entree choice of Prime Rib, Chicken Marsala, Pesto Salmon. Beer and Wine. DJ.

9/11 CEREMONY - Please come to Reflection Park at 8:30am and renew our promise to NEVER FORGET. The Rev. Reuel Kaighn will lead us in a prayer that we always start at 8:46am. The Ceremony will end with the American Legion giving a salute and playing Taps.


9/11 HELP A HERO GOLF OUTING - Sept. 11, rain date Sept. 12.  9 holes of golf w/cart & prizes. $45 Golf/Pass/$50 members/$55 guests. 1pm - Lunch; 2pm Shotgun start, Four person Captain and Crew format.
