11/16/10 Communication Committee Draft Minutes of Meeting
In attendance: Jane Krasny, Sue Dimmick, Joan Martinez, Carol Maguire, Debbie Henneforth, Debbie McGowan, Barbara White, and Lisa Green. Excused: Barbara Wertz, Dolores Carney, and Enid Miller.Minutes: The October 12, 2010 Minutes were approved with a motion from Jane Krasny, seconded by Sue Dimmick.
Website: A question was asked regarding monies allocated for the website. Has it been approved for the 2011 Budget? Debbie McGowan has not received word yet regarding this.
Hideabout Newspaper: Good Issue. The “Meet your Hideout Neighbor” column was very good. Hopefully Hideout members will submit names and/or articles for this column. Unfortunately, members do not respond to calls for information. For the last two months we have asked how the membership receives their information, and have received not one response.
For the next two or three months the Hideabout will be kept at 60 pages. The December issue will include the Proposed Budget Pullout.
Hideabout Extra: printed bi-weekly. It was noted that the Recreation Department has many activities. Debbie McGowan commented that this is the first time she has ever had to continue Recreation activities to a second page in the Extra.
Channel 20: Seems that the changes were accepted by the membership. Channel is running less than 5 minutes.
At this point Ralph Graf joined the committee and spoke about RS&W. The December Hideabout will have a two page spread on major changes with RS&W.
Elections: Barbara White was elected to Chairperson with a first from Jane Krasny, second by Sue Dimmick. Sue Dimmick was elected to co-chair with a first by Barbara White, second by Carol Maguire.
Our next meeting will be Tues., April 12, 2011, 9:30am at the POA.
