Communications Committee Draft Minutes August 16, 2005

Attending: Dolores Carney, Susan Dimmick, Debbie McGowan, Lisa Green and Barbara White. Excused: Lorraine Luft

A motion by Susan Dimmick and a second by Debbie McGowan approved the minutes of the July meeting.

Hideabout: Will be going back to 60 pages for the September issue - one section. There was hardly any reaction to the three-section format. Advertising likely to suffer due to the economy and gas prices.

Web Site: Now updated weekly. There are problems with some of the pages but the forum is running smoothly.

Computers: Arc Adventure is still working on computers. A new Mac has been installed in the department that will be put into service probably next week. Older Mac will be put aside as a back up. Departmental Help: Additional help is still needed in the department. One full-timer and two part-timers donąt cut it considering the coverage required. There is much that is not being touched on due to a lack of man-hours.

Extra: Will go to two weeks format after Labor Day.

TV Channel 20: Is up and running fine. There have been no crashes now that the new computer is being used.

Map: Letters will go out to prospective advertisers around August 21st with a deadline of September 9th. We will stay with printing 10,000 pieces. The price for each ad is still $250.

Next meeting: September 20, 2005 - 10am at the POA
